SAN JOSE, Calif., March 28, 2001- Semotus Solutions (AMEX: DLK, formerly Datalink.net) today announced that Ford Motor Credit Company, an auto-financing subsidiary of Ford Motor Company serving more than 10 million customers in 40 countries, has selected Semotus Solutions as its vendor for wireless messaging technology to be used in monitoring their entire network.
Ford Motor Credit Company has chosen the most advanced version of the HipLink messaging software developed by Cross Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Semotus Solutions, as their notification tool. Ford Motor Credit Company is integrating HipLink into its network management environment, HP OpenView’s Network Node Manager. This solution will provide real-time, wireless alert notification to AT&T devices within Ford Motor Credit’s service centers and branch offices.
“The demand for these ‘back-office’ type products has never been stronger, especially during the current economic cautionary times where our wireless solutions have become almost a necessity for enterprise organizations,” said Kim Wold, President of Cross Communications. “In addition, the sales potential of the newest Cross/Semotus offerings, Connections and MD Messenger, into the existing HipLink customer base creates exciting revenue potential for our organization.”
Ford Motor Credit Company is the latest in what has been a continued successful market penetration for HipLink amongst enterprise organizations. Wells Fargo Bank, Lucent Technologies, eBay, Qwest Communications, Quest IT and 3DO are among the businesses to have recently adopted HipLink wireless messaging capabilities into their IT infrastructure.
