HipLink Sponsored Dragster Best in Class at Toyota Nationals in Las Vegas with Impressive Win

LOS GATOS, California – November 2, 2015 – HipLink® Software, a leading provider of wireless messaging and notification solutions, today announced that the HipLink-sponsored dragster won its class at the NHRA Toyota Nationals, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 28 - Nov 1, 2015.

The city of Las Vegas hosts the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series twice each year, with the first event in the spring and this crucial “race before the last race” scheduled in the fall.

HipLink driver, Garrett Bateman of the Henkelman Motorsports Racing Team, drove the car for a time of 5.275 seconds and speed of 269.08 mph to win the A/Fuel Dragster class trophy at this national event. He defeated Jackie Fricke, who came in at 5.902 seconds and 222.91 mph, to win the Wally (the name of the trophy awarded to the winner of NHRA national events).

Bateman’s journey to the winners circle started on Friday with a round one qualifying effort of 5.477/265.90 which put the HipLink Dragster in the number six position. Round two Saturday morning was when the power of the Rick Henkelman tuned dragster stole the show. Prior to the run tuner Rick Henkelman saw something on the track he liked and decided to step it up. His next run catapulted Bateman to the number one spot.

Mr. Bateman said, “This was a great day for me, for Henkelman and for our sponsor, HipLink. We are all ecstatic at winning our first national event and are expecting more wins to come.”
